Sometimes known as ‘The Big Apple’ or ‘The City That Never Sleeps’, New York is both the most populous city in the USA, as well as a leading center of business, commerce, finance and media. The city, which is often referred to as ‘New York City’, in order to distinguish it from the state it is in (also called ‘New York’, but often referred to as ‘New York State’), as of 2004, had an estimated population of 8,104,079.

The city is part of a large metropolitan area, and the combined city/metropolitan population exceeds 18.7 million. New York City is made up of five boroughs (each of which currently corresponds to a county in New York State), and hence another nickname of the city is ‘The Five Boroughs’. The five boroughs are: The Bronx (Bronx County), Brooklyn (Kings County), Manhattan (New York County), Queens (Queens County) and Staten Island (Richmond County).

There are many famous buildings and sights in New York, especially in Manhattan. Some buildings to look out for, include the Chrysler Building, the Empire State Building, the Flatiron Building and the United Nations Building.

When you visit New York, you’ll also want to be sure to see Central Park, Times Square, Chinatown, Little Italy and of course the Statue of Liberty. Additionally, there are many wonderful museums in New York, some truly excellent shopping, some of the world’s best theater in the Broadway area, not to mention the neighborhoods of Greenwich Village and SoHo which are well known for the artists and bohemians among their residents.

Canada’s Quebec is a beautiful place to visit all year round, but especially so in winter, when the countryside is blanketed in snow, and the cultured cities (hello Montreal!) brighten up with special festivals, performances, and fun.

For a traditional skiing vacation at a great value, Quebec’s Mont Tremblant can’t be beat. With a wide variety of trails, a pretty, pedestrian-only village, and the tourist infrastructure of Whistler/Blackcomb (thanks to the same parent company) with a tenth of the crowds at a tenth of the costs, it’s definitely a contender for Canada’s best East Coast resort.

A close proximity to Montreal also makes it a cinch to combine a skiing vacation with some shopping and culture.

If you’re lucky enough to be near Quebec City around the beginning of February, be sure to make time for the city’s incredible Winter Carnival. Fun for travelers and locals of all ages and interests, this carnival offers ice sculptures, parades, canoe races across the frozen St. Lawrence, and an impressive castle of ice.

For a unique hotel experience, try the Ice Hotel (located outside Quebec City). Rebuilt every year out of snow and ice, it’s a beautiful beat of architecture and design… And you won’t soon forget a night spent in a crystal cave staying cozy in fur pelts.

Mush! Kids especially will love the chance to try dogsledding, a uniquely winter activity. In Quebec, dogsledding tours include the opportunity to explore a beautiful (and otherwise inaccessible) countryside, all the while mushing your own team of sled dogs. You can also choose to let a professional take the reins. Either way, it’s exhilarating!

However you choose to discover Quebec, enjoy the province’s beautiful nature, accessible culture, and unique and proud heritage. Bons voyages!

Sydney is one of the largest cities in Australia and also on the top of the list for traveling destinations for its historical legacy and beauty. It is also known to set trends in various modern fields like design, fashion and cuisine. Sydney is also a very important economical center and it was the host of the Olympic Games in the year 2000. Despite the large number of inhabitants, you can enjoy the many green spaces and public parks.

If you are on a visiting tour of Sydney, the best place to start is, of course, the Sydney Opera House. This icon of the city attracts the attention of millions of tourists every year and it is without any doubt, one of the most famous constructions in the world today.

Other important landmarks that catch the eye of the visitor are the Sydney Harbor Bridge, the Sydney Tower that is the tallest building in the city, Luna Park with the huge Ferris Wheel, and Darling Harbor that encloses a large number of shops, restaurants and other facilities in a spectacular scenery. Don’t miss the scene of the Olympic Games, the Sydney Olympic park. The Rocks is an historical neighborhood of Sydney with a wide variety of cultural and local attractions witch the five stars hotels benefit from.

Sydney is also well known for the special wild life so take the time to visit the Sydney Aquarium, Taronga Zoo, the Australian Reptile Park and the unique Koala Park Sanctuary. The species on display are unique and representative for the entire Australia.

From the beginning of its rich history (including its early history when it was under the name ‘Edo’), Tokyo has been the site of many incredible innovations. This is one reason why you may be enchanted by the sights and sounds of a Tokyo tour. Down to this day, Tokyo has remained one of the most unique cities in the world.

Unique Things You May See On A Tokyo Tour

Sure, there are the ‘common’ sites to see, places to visit and landmarks to photographs when you go on a Tokyo tour. These are not uncommon on a vacation to any country, however, when visiting Tokyo, chances are extremely high that you will be exposed to unbelievable, eye opening events and venues that are completely unique to Tokyo. These experiences simply cannot be duplicated anywhere else in the world.

To demonstrate how unique of a city Tokyo is, all one needs to do is look at the recent unveiling of a robot domestic helper. Yes, a robot domestic helper. This ‘creature’ was devised by a Tokyo based company with the hopes that it will eventually develop the complex motor skills required to perform domestic tasks effectively. This may seem like a bizarre concept right out of a science fiction novel (or even an old episode of THE JETSONS), but it is actually the world of the present and it is on display in Tokyo this very day.

Unique and interesting events such as the ‘robot unveiling’ are somewhat commonplace in Japan as the country is the epicenter of technological and electronic advancements in the world. For most of us, such scientific achievements may seem unimaginable. Nevertheless, you will encounter them on display if you participate in a Tokyo tour designed to highlight such uniqueness.

What Makes a Tokyo Tour Special

The aspect that makes a Tokyo tour special is not the fact that one is visiting a city that has never seen before. While it is true that the uniqueness of visiting a new land holds a sense of excitement and wonder, a Tokyo tour takes on an added dimension of being special because the city is a constantly evolving one that mixes the traditions of the past with the great leap forwards into the future as typified by its unique pop culture influenced technological society.

A Tokyo tour will be a tour thatyou will never forget and is a unique experience that would be impossible to duplicate anywhere else in the world.

Indulge in the wonders and sights of a [http://www.affiliate.viator.com/brochure/ed_PRODUCT_results.jsp;jsessionid=abcQ7KJQGzZHp_7aD3Tor?CITY=TOKYO&L=MOSTPOP&AUID=5795]tokyo tour.

Cape Town is one of the largest cities in South Africa. It is one of the most popular travel destinations in the world, and this is doubtless due to the fact that it offers opportunities for almost every kind of activity, from hiking to shopping to dining. Many visitors also stop in Cape Town on their way to or back from other South African destinations. Getting to Cape Town is a fairly easy process.

By air – Cape Town International Airport is one of the most established airports in South Africa, and it is here that international visitors land when they choose to fly to Cape Town. Visitors who are simply using Cape Town as a transit point to get to other parts of South Africa will find it fairly easy to hop onto a domestic flight from the Cape Town International Airport to their intended destination. There are numerous flights to other South African locations such as Johannesburg, Windhoek, Swakopmund and Nairobi. Prices of tickets vary, depending on whether you take the more premium local airlines, such as South African Airways, or the budget airlines, such as 1Time or Kulula.

The major international airlines that fly to Cape Town International Airport would be Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines, British Airways and South African Airways. You should be able to get a direct flight to Cape Town from places such as Doha, Frankfurt, London, Atlanta and Singapore.

By bus – If you are coming from the major South African cities or from Windhoek in Namibia, you have the option of taking a bus to get to Cape Town. While the frequency is quite irregular, there are about five buses running per day. If you are travelling from the eastern parts of Africa, such as Tanzania or Kenya, you can also consider taking a bus. There are even buses catering to the Nairobi – Cape Town route. However, the journey takes about three days.

The main bus services are Greyhound, Intercape Mainliner, Baz Bus, Translux and SA Roadlink. In general, you may want to purchase your bus tickets in advance. Most buses will drop their passengers near the Golden Acre building, which is fairly nearly the train station. It is quite hectic there, so if you are travelling out of Cape Town from that point, do be sure to board the right bus.

By train – If you are thinking of heading to Cape Town from cities such as Johannesburg, East London, Muizenberg or Stellenbosch, you may want to consider hopping onto a train. There are daily trains, weekly trains and MetroRail commuter trains, so do take note of the train timings before planning your journey. Some of the train services travel along exceptionally scenic routes, for example, along the ocean such that you even have the opportunity to see whales.
